Code, drawings and salt air. Handled.
Drawn in‑house, to code
Every railing meets the BC Building Code for height, strength and gap size (a 4-inch ball must not fit through). The drawings your inspector asks for come with the quote.
Stairs done properly
We make a pattern of every stair panel on site and cut it to the slope of your stairs, so the top edge runs in one straight line from the bottom step to the landing.
Built for the coast
Safety glass and marine-grade aluminum that stand up to salt air. On waterfront decks, an easy-clean coating (Diamon‑Fusion) helps keep salt spray from marking the glass.
What it costs
Most glass deck railings cost $150 to $350 per foot of railing, installed, with permit drawings.
Glass railing cost guideDo I need a permit for a deck railing in Nanaimo?
Usually, for a new deck or a new railing. In the City of Nanaimo, replacing the railing on a deck that already has a permit often does not need one. The rules in the regional district are different, so we check on the visit and supply the drawings if you need them.
Glass only, or with a top rail?
Glass only (sometimes called topless) uses thicker 12 mm glass and gives the clearest view. A top rail lets us use 10 mm glass and suits long runs. We bring samples of both to the visit.
How long does a railing take?
A written quote within 3 business days of the site visit. Install is 3 to 4 weeks after the order goes in, mostly waiting on the aluminum and glass to be made. The order goes in once you approve the quote and pay the deposit.
Will it hold up to salt air?
Yes. We use safety glass and marine-grade aluminum, and on waterfront decks we recommend an easy-clean coating (Diamon‑Fusion) to help keep salt from marking the glass.
